About Trogir

Trogir is small Dalmatian city founded by ancient Greek Empire. Through the centuries Trogir siezed by many other nations: Roman Empire, Venetians, Hungarians, France (Napoleon), and all of them left their mark in cultural variousity of Trogir, which made Trogir get UNESCO-s protection as "monument city".

Trogir has high density of palaces, churches and towers from renaissance and baroque period. Some of the most famous monuments are the cathedral of st. Lovre. Its belltower was built in three different centuries, and every story of it is made in different style (romantic, renaissance and baroque). There are also many other churches, museums, roman buildings and two towers which were used as deffence from the ships.

Trogir is settled partly on the mainland, partly on the island Čiovo and a small island between the mainland and Čiovo. Both islands are connected by a bridge to the mainland. The airport is just few kilometers far, as well as the highway. Bus station is located in the very centre and it's connected to all major cities in Croatia.

Trogir offers not just cultural heritage, but also lots of beaches, bars, restaurants with dalmatian food and wine, becoming the destination for every type of tourists.
